Vuestro trabajo “Chaosatanas” suena impresionante.

Ok. Esto es todo. ¡Gracias por tu tiempo! Las últimas palabras…
No moralidad, no tolerancia, no humano, no Dios.
Veni, Omnipotens Aeternae Diabolus!

ENGLISH:

Hails SUFFERING, first of all, welcome to the pages of the #2 of Morbid Shrine Productions. Let us know what weather are there in Poland and how you see the week. Is there any cool band sounding in your stereo? How many rehearsal days do you have for the band per week?
Hail from Poland! You’d surely like me to write that now in Poland we’re having hell of a snowy and frosty winter, but unfortunately today the weather is as not-blackmetall-ish as can be – though it’s just the beginning of February, we’re having a beautiful sunny spring day. How un-true is that? As for my stereo, looks like today the patriotic soul has awakened in me, cause I’m listening to Polish bands the whole day, for example Cultes Des Ghoules, Oremus, Mgła and Plaga. Actually this week we’re not rehearsing, cause the matters regarding our latest release are consuming most of our time and attention.

Who are the members involved in the horde SUFFERING? I saw pics of two members and other pics as a three-piece band…
Well, the reason why in our official photos you can see only me and Astaroth is that at the time when we did the photo shoot, we were constantly looking for the right person to play drums in Suffering and though we rehearsed some drummers back then, none of them seemed suitable for the band. We found Exernus a bit later and instead of spending time on doing some photo shit, we decide to kick in with writing music and playing rehearsals and I guess it’s what the band needed then. In the future, of course, we’re planning to do a proper photo shoot including all the band members of Suffering.

In your website you say that you stopped the project due to musical differences and the songs were abandoned due to your first drummer. What happened with it and why you decided to come back?
It wasn’t exactly like that. Suffering has been active constantly since 2007, but after the disagreement with our first drummer, the band has reformed. When we first started the band we were much younger and more rebellious than we are now and our view on Black Metal was a little bit different. We were deeply fascinated with the Norwegian Black Metal scene, which meant that we were sometimes more interested in fight against Christianity outside of our rehearsing studio than concentrating on composing and playing meaningful music. Not everyone could stand up to our expectations at that time and a band member who wouldn’t share our ideology, which back then was quite orthodox and extreme, wasn’t an acceptable person for the band. This is why several line-up changes had to happen before Suffering achieved it’s final shape. You may say, that due to these changes we disbanded and reactivated every other month, but truth is that the core has always been somewhere there, so we choose to say that the break in our activity you’re speaking of, wasn’t a break up indeed. Telling you all the stories from that time period would take 100 years and 100 litres of vodka, so I guess we’ll finish this for now.

Your work “Chaosatanas” sound great. How and where was it recorded? Any curious anecdote of those days? I saw in your website that it was recorded under the fullmoon. How did you feel it?
We recorded “Chaosatanas” in No Fear Records in Rybnik and yes, it was a full moon then. Moreover, to create the perfect atmosphere for this recording we took some occult artifacts with us, for example a goat scull. The recording went pretty fast and at the beginning we were very satisfied with the result, but now we feel like we could have done some things in a different way. Unfortunately our funds were limited and so that we couldn’t spend as much time in studio as we’d like to, but fortunately for us, the sound engineer we worked with was a very professional guy. It’s good to hear that you like the album, but if you’d ask me what would I improve, I’d say that it definitely would be the sound. But well, I guess that it’s natural for a band to always want to do something better and in a different way. This is why you hit the studio again to record another albums, on and on.

Suffering is made by two members of Besatt. Is Suffering a side project or is it a serious band?
At the very beginning we might have considered Suffering just a project, but the further we go and the more of our hearts we put in this music, it looks like it won’t be only a temporary thing.

How important is satanism for you? Talk us about your personal phylosophy. Are the members ofSUFFERING implicated in any satanic order outside music?
Listen to our lyrics, it’s all there. I don’t like repeating myself and if I express something through music and lyrics it’s honest and comes from the soul.

Poland has a great Extreme Metal scene. I am sure that the most of our readers know a big bunch of bands from there, but I want to know what are the bands you totally support from your country. Any new horde that deserves a mention?
Damn right, Polish metal scene is growing stronger every single year. There is a lot of new talented and promising hordes, which actually makes it hard to recommend you just a few, but let’s see… Firstly, one of the bands that I mentioned before – Plaga. Then I’d say Medico Peste, Deus Mortem and Outre. Moreover, it looks like this year a lot of great bands will be releasing new albums, starting with Kriegsmachine, whose new album comes out next month.

Nowadays, Black Metal is not a trending topic in the media. Now, all attention is for the old school Death Metal, Doom, Thrash even Heavy Metal and other 70’s sounds. But Black Metal is now behind the scene as I understand it, which I personally think that is good. But what’s your opinion about that? What do you think about the meaning of Black Metal?
Yes, you’re right, Black Metal has never been a trending topic in the media, unless of course somebody murdered someone or a church has been burnt. Although BM wasn't too popular among the masses, it always had a certain group of devoted fans. Them and the bands created a very strong underground scene, which – especially in the 90’s – had a unique atmosphere. Remember all these paper zines, photocopyied flyers, limited edition demos, exclusive concerts..? All these things made BM a sophisticated art for the people, who really enjoy it, not for kids who browse youtube randomly just to kill time.

What do you know about the Spanish Metal scene? It would be great to see SUFFERING on live here…
Speaking of Spanish bands, I must say, that Teitanblood is really popular in Poland. Also considering other bands from your country, I’d conclude that you guys really feel the vibe of Black Metal. What I like about your BM scene is that the bands don’t tend to compose trendy, gothic-like gayish shit and don’t give a fuck about commercial success. As an occultist and chaoist, being interested in witchcraft and sorcery, I couldn’t have not come across some stuff about the Spanish inquisition. You can even find Goya’s “Witches’ Sabbath” in the booklet of “Chaosatanas”. So I think, that it would surely be thrilling to play some gigs in the land of witches burned at the stakes and tortured till death… haha!

Ok. That’s all. Thank you for your time! Last words are yours!
No morality, no tolerance, no human, no god!
